Planning effective lessons for your students can be a long, tedious, time-consuming process. Even if you are a veteran teacher, hardly ever two lessons are the same.
Of course, students, circumstances and instructional contexts vary from year to year. But the good news is that now more than ever there is an abundance of tools and resources to make your planning more painless.
So today, I want to share some of those resources that can save you time and help you create effective lessons all year long.
1-Quizlet
This online resource is a great tool to introduce, review and test vocabulary words. You can create your own digital "flashcards" or you can use the ones already provided without even the need to log in. They now have interactive diagrams, which makes everything so much easier. There are so many sets already created, that chances are you can find what you are looking for without having to create anything. The games that my students like the best are "matching" and "galaxy", which can all be played on the smart board. It's a lot of fun!2-Piclits
Piclits has always been one of my favorites for so many reasons. First of all, it combines writing with photography because you are provided with several images you can choose from. Then, at the bottom of the image, there is a list of words that are grouped according to parts of speech and can be dragged on the smart board to create sentences, metaphors, similes, poems, inferences, idioms or whatever you can think of. Just like quizlet, you don't need to sign in unless you want to save your piclit.3-Mastery Connect
This is a platform exclusively to create or find assessments aligned with the common core standards. You can search for a specific skill or standard to assess and search for the right assessment. This resource can save you so much time. Most of them also include answer keys.
All you need to sign up is your email.
Please share it among your co-workers and don't forget to pin it!
